Teenage chess sensation Divya Deshmukh scripted history on Monday by becoming the first Indian champion in a FIDE Women’s Chess World Cup tournament.

Fifteen Indian players, led by D Gukesh and Koneru Humpy, have qualified for the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss in Uzbekistan.
