Jammu and Kashmir Police launched an extensive crackdown on terror networks linked to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) across the Jammu region.

In a successful operation on Friday, security forces killed two terrorists in Sopore, Baramulla district, after an intense gunfight.

On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the capture of three terrorists operating in the Doda District.

The report states that there have been intense gunfire exchanges between the terrorists and the security forces during the operation which resulted in the death of a terrorist.

The operation named Lukhbhawan was carried out at the Larkipora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, they added.

Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was shot at by a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist on a cricket pitch in Srinagar.
