US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has reached out to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to encourage the militant group Hamas.

Iranian military official has stated that Tehran views avenging the assassination of Hamas Politburo Chief Ismail Haniyeh as a duty.

Hamas is set to appoint an interim leader to succeed Ismail Haniyeh, the group's political head who was assassinated in Tehran on July 31.
