Sensex surges above 78,000, fueled by strong IT sector gains, as experts predict continued growth for Nifty and Bank Nifty.

The domestic benchmark indices opened higher on Tuesday as HCLTech’s stock tanked 9 per cent in early trade after posting Q3 results that left brokerages unimpressed.

By 9:29 am, the Sensex had dropped 233.24 points or 0.29 per cent to 79,710.47. Meanwhile, the Nifty declined by 56.75 points or 0.23 per cent, trading at 24,131.90.
