Virat Kohli’s Instagram Story Angers BCCI Bosses, Indian Cricketers Get ‘Verbal’ Warning: Report

On Thursday, India’s top batsman, Virat Kohli, posted on his Instagram account about his yo-yo fitness score. And as a result, it has not been well received by the BCCI high brass. Just hours after Kohli’s Instagram tale went viral, the Indian team management created a strict management structure and set of guidelines for the cricket players.

According to a direction issued by the senior management of the BCCI, the administration has advised the players not to post their yo-yo test results, which are considered sensitive information, on their social media accounts.

According to the allegation, the instructions were “verbally” conveyed to all cricket players at the Alur camp in Bengaluru as they got ready to leave for the Asia Cup 2023.

Virat’s Instagram story revealed that he scored 17.2 on the yo-yo test for fitness. “The relief of completing the dreadful cones of the yo-yo test 17.2 completed,” wrote Kohli. The BCCI specifies a 16.5 fitness parameter.

The BCCI promptly informed the cricketers that Kohli’s reveal on Instagram may be considered a “breach of contract” after that.

“Players have been verbally warned not to post any private information on social media channels. The story reported a BCCI official as saying, “They can share images while training, but posting a score results in a breach of contract provision.

The opening match of the 2023 Asia Cup would pit Team India against archrival Pakistan on September 2. The tournament begins on August 30.
