Kohli’s performance in the WTC Final

With scores of 14 and 49 in both innings during the WTC Final, the Indian hitter had a discouraging performance. When India was given a massive 444-run target in the second innings of the match, Kohli had particularly improved. Along with Ajinkya Rahane, the batsman stabilized the Indian innings towards the end of day 4 and appeared to be in superb form. But just 30 minutes into the last Test day, Kohli was out after attempting an outrageous cover drive on a delivery that was wide of the off stump and nicking the ball in the process, delivering a catch to Steve Smith at slip.

We talked so much about the fact that to win a match, you need a long inning. You need a century. How are you going to make a century if you are going to play a shot so far outside the off stump?” Gavaskar had said on Star Sports.
