Sourav Ganguly names his team for the World Cup 2023
Tilak Varma, a middle-order hitter, and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson were left off Sourav Ganguly’s 15-person India ODI World Cup roster. The ODI World Cup 2023 will be held in India in October and November of this year.

Ganguly left pacer Prasidh Krishna out of his World Cup roster in addition to Tilak and Samson. He selected a 15-man World Cup squad that included Kuldeep Yadav, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan.
In addition, Ganguly said that he would replace any injured batter with Tilak and named Prasidh as the backup fast bowler and Yuzvendra Chahal as the backup spinner.
India’s 17-member extended team for the Asia Cup 2023 was just released by the BCCI. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, will feature outstanding players who have recovered from injury absences and rest periods. Ajit Agarkar, the head of the selection committee, and Rohit Sharma, the captain, appeared before the media in New Delhi to make the announcement.

Comeback of the injured players
The team’s main talking point was the comeback of injured players Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. Along with Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah also joined the ODI team.
Despite Suryakumar Yadav’s unimpressive statistics and recent one-day international performance, he has kept his spot in the team. For the first time since August 2022, Prasidh is back in the ODI team after also making a full recovery from a back ailment.
Tilak received another prize from the BCCI for his outstanding performance against the West Indies: a position in the Asia Cup team. Agarkar stated that although the World Cup roster will be composed similarly to their Asia Cup squad, modifications may be made up until September 5 (the deadline for the provisional squad announcement).
