AUS vs PAK
Few people have perfected the art of using the Decision Review System effectively. On Friday, during Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 match against Australia, Shaheen Shah Afridi provided the ideal illustration of a wasted review. Shaheen is said to have trapped the southpaw LBW in front of the stumps while bowling David Warner during the opening delivery of the encounter. Despite requests from several of his teammates not to, Shaheen pushed that captain Babar Azam go for a review after the umpire’s decision did not go in Pakistan’s favor.
The Pakistani squad was severely embarrassed by the outcome, as replays revealed that Warner had a significant inside edge prior to the ball striking his legs. Calling it a “poor review,” the on-air pundit also hinted that the Pakistan squad would eventually pay a price for their misplaced DRS.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, chose to bowl first after winning the toss in the match. “Let’s bowl first, us. The pitch appears to be excellent. We’ve had a few productive meetings. Our goal is to succeed. We have to bat really well. We’ll give it our all. Shadab isn’t participating. At the toss, he said, “Usama comes.”
What a WASTE of the review on the 1st ball itself.

“A bowl would have also been served to us. Even though they had a significant partnership, the energy was fantastic. The guys’ intention was really good. We ought to play similarly to how we did against Lanka. The same. “Everyone is good to go,” the Australian captain stated.
