‘Got at least one club job in me’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a legendary figure in Manchester United’s history, etched his name in football folklore with his unforgettable winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final. This goal secured a rare treble for the club, comprising the European Cup, Premier League, and FA Cup titles in a single season, a feat only matched by cross-town rivals Manchester City in 2023.

Returning to Manchester United as manager in the 2018/19 season, Solskjaer led the team until his dismissal in November 2022, following a series of heavy defeats against key rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, and Watford. Despite the setback, Solskjaer remains determined to return to management, emphasizing his desire for an engaging challenge that allows him to express himself fully.

Reflecting on his time at Manchester United, Solskjaer acknowledged the immense pressure and thrill of managing such a prestigious club. “I’ve got at least one club job in me,” he affirmed, expressing a longing for the intensity and excitement of top-level football management. “It has to be an interesting one, somewhere, an adventure, somewhere I can be myself.”
