Gary Kirsten on Subhman Gill
Gary Kirsten, the coach of the Gujarat Titans, commented that it would be “unfair” to place Gill on the same pedestal as Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, two of India’s batting legends, but that the opener undoubtedly has the potential to become a successful all-format player. Kirsten previously served as the head coach of the national team.

In 17 matches, Gill scored 890 runs at an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80, earning him the Orange Cap. After Virat Kohli’s 973 in the 2016 season, Gill finally finished with the second-highest total by a batter in an IPL season and was named Most Valuable Player after the final.

The Titans might have lost to the Chennai Super Rulers in the championship, but Gill’s rise in T20s has been one of the grandiose arguments in the 2023 release, and the side’s guide, Gary Kirsten, had high praise for the opener.
“He is a youthful player who has mind-blowing expertise and assurance to be quite possibly one of the best players on the planet. At this point in his journey, it would be unfair to compare him to Sachin and Virat. He has the skill set, in my opinion, to play well in each of India’s three formats. “You don’t see that very often these days, especially with how quickly T20 cricket is developing,” Kirsten told Cricbuzz.
What does Kirsten have to say?
Kirsten also commended Gill for not resting on his laurels but rather growing and improving his game this year. He talked about a few new aspects of the kids’ game that have changed since last year.
