Rohit Climbs To 3, Gill Remains On Top In ODI Rankings After Champions Trophy Triumph

India skipper Rohit Sharma climbed to third place in the ICC ODI batting rankings after leading India to a thrilling Champions Trophy win over New Zealand.

India secured their third Champions Trophy title with a four-wicket victory in Dubai.

The latest rankings update, released on Wednesday, rewarded several standout performers from both teams.

Rohit’s match-winning 76 off 83 balls in the final helped him jump two places to third in the rankings. He also received the Player of the Match award. Shubman Gill retained his top spot, reinforcing India’s dominance in the batting charts. Virat Kohli, who scored 218 runs in the tournament, held onto his fifth-place position.

New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell rose one spot to sixth, while Rachin Ravindra made the biggest leap, climbing 14 places to 14th. Glenn Phillips also moved up six spots to 24th.

Santner And Kuldeep Shine In Bowling Rankings

New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner’s nine wickets in the tournament, including two in the final, pushed him six places up to No 2 in the bowling rankings, just behind Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana. Michael Bracewell also gained 10 spots, reaching 18th place.

India’s Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja also saw gains. Kuldeep, who claimed seven wickets, moved up to No 3. Jadeja climbed to 10th after taking five wickets in India’s unbeaten campaign.

Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai stayed the top-ranked ODI all-rounder. Mitchell Santner rose to fourth, while Michael Bracewell and Rachin Ravindra advanced to seventh and eighth, respectively, after strong all-round performances.
