Notably, Prof Rizvi holds a PhD in Political Science (International Relations) from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
He has served as the Visitor’s Nominee on the AMU Court since April 2022 and as an external member of the Institutional Academic Integrity Panel (IAIP) at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad.
Additionally, he has served on several boards and committees at JMI. His research on West Asia is well-recognized both in India and abroad.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof Mazhar Asif welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence in Prof. Rizvi’s leadership. “Under Prof Rizvi’s guidance, JMI will streamline processes and boost the productivity of faculty and staff,” Prof Asif said.
Prof Rizvi expressed gratitude for the appointment. He stated his commitment to working with faculty, students, and staff to strengthen the university’s infrastructure.
“We aim to secure more funds from government ministries and implement the National Education Policy (NEP) effectively,” he said. He also promised to create a positive academic environment for intellectual growth.
