Opener Devon Conway and fast bowler Matheesa Pathirana will miss the initial phase of the season due to injuries. Conway underwent thumb surgery following an injury sustained during the T20I series against Australia, while Pathirana, a key player for CSK last year, suffered a hamstring injury during a recent white-ball series against Bangladesh. Additionally, Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, expected to provide cover for Pathirana, was stretchered off the field during the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Chattogram due to severe cramps.
