India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, along with his wife Rivaba Jadeja, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Rivaba Jadeja currently serves as Gujarat’s Minister for Tribal Development and for Primary, Secondary, and Adult Education.
Following the interaction, Jadeja shared his thoughts on the social media platform X, describing the meeting as a moment of pride. He praised the Prime Minister’s vision, energy and dedication, noting that the interaction offered valuable insight into leadership and public service.
An absolute privilege and honour to meet and interact with Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi sir. His clarity of thought, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence are deeply inspiring. A privilege to learn from such leadership. 🙏@narendramodi #ParliamentHouse #Delhi pic.twitter.com/AaJ4OMMyVf

The visit coincided with a significant phase in Jadeja’s cricketing career. He remains one of India’s most experienced players and retained his place in the Elite A category of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) central contracts announced on Monday.
Only three players featured in this top bracket: Jadeja, current Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
Jadeja has already drawn the curtain on his T20 international career, making his decision after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli stepped away from the format following the T20 World Cup in 2024.
As a result, he does not feature in India’s squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Key Changes in BCCI’s Contract Grading System
The newly released contracts list also highlights notable changes in the grading system.
The BCCI has done away with the A+ category for the 2025–26 season. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been placed in Grade B after retiring from Tests and T20Is.
India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav also features in the same grade.
In total, 30 players received central contracts this year, down from 34 in the previous season.
Grade B comprises 11 players, while Grade C lists 16, including emerging batter Abhishek Sharma.
Several prominent names, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan, did not make the list.
On the cricketing front, Jadeja last featured for India in a three-match home ODI series against New Zealand last month, a contest that ended with the visitors clinching the series 2–1.
