Ravichandran Ashwin Reflects On His ‘Draining Journey’ And Says, “There Is No Cricketer Or Human Being In This World…”

One of the few cricketers in the world who doesn’t hesitate to express their opinions is Ravichandran Ashwin.

Despite playing a significant role in India’s journey to the top, Ravichandran Ashwin was upset to learn that he would not be playing in the ICC World Test Championship final last month. The skilled offspinner, on the other hand, has already gone past it and won’t dwell on it for too long.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s statement on not getting selected for the WTC final

In his first Test match since winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, Ashwin made a brilliant comeback to help India dismiss the West Indies for 150 on Day 1 of the first Test in Dominica.

What does Ashwin have to say?

Winning the WTC final, according to Ashwin, would have been a significant career high point.

“Winning the WTC Final is the most important thing, and it could have been a very high point in my career, and I could have played a good role in it, but it was just unfortunate that it didn’t pan out and the first day left us too far behind in the shed,” he continued.

In the playing XI for the World T20 final at The Oval in London, India included only one specialist spinner, Ravindra Jadeja, and they fell to Australia by a score of 209 runs.

“But what makes me any different from someone else who will pout (about being fired)?” Ashwin stated, “All I would like to leave with my colleagues and India cricket as a whole is some understanding and my best efforts on the pitch.

Ashwin also became the third Indian to take 700 wickets

Additionally, following Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, Ashwin became the third Indian to reach the milestone of 700 wickets at the international level.
The 36-year-old claimed that he has always made an effort to learn from his mistakes.

No highs without lows

No person or cricket player has ever experienced the highs without the lows, according to Ashwin.
“Having low points presents opportunities. Either you learn from it, and I am someone who has continuously done so, or you wallow in it, talk about it, or whine about it, and go down with it.

“I will have a good lunch, have a wonderful conversation with my family, go to bed, and forget about it today after this good day that I have had. When you have a nice day, you are aware that it has been a fantastic day. However, some days are opportunities to work hard and improve for the next day.

“It is not a journey that has been very easy, so for me the journey has been draining, but I am very thankful for all the lows that have come my way also, because without the lows there are no highs in your life,” he continued.
