Rahul Dravid is expected to succeed Gautam Gambhir as the LSG mentor

Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, is supposedly in negotiations with the Lucknow Super Giants, may take on the role of mentor for LSG

Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, is supposedly in negotiations with the Lucknow Super Giants, an IPL team. Before the 2024 Indian Premier League, Dravid may take on the role of mentor for LSG. However, everything hinges on how Dravid and the BCCI work out.

With the conclusion of the ODI World Cup, the former captain of India’s tenure as head coach of Team India has officially come to an end. Following the T20 World Cup in 2021, he was named the men’s team head coach, a position he held for two years until the World Cup this year. Subsequently, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and current secretary Jay Shah were instrumental in persuading Dravid to assume the position following the conclusion of Ravi Shastri’s term.

India did not win an ICC trophy under Dravid, although they excelled in bilateral matches. They are the top-ranked team in each of the three forms right now. They had won ten straight World Cup games, but in the top match against Australia, they were unable to overcome the last obstacle.

Although it is unlikely that Dravid will ask for an extension, BCCI is expected to meet with him to learn about his future plans. Because of his hectic schedule and many travels, he will not be able to continue serving as India’s head coach and his desire to spend time with his family.

An affiliation with an IPL franchise is helpful in this situation. Only two months are allotted to the IPL. This gives Dravid plenty time to spend with his family and maintain his coaching ties.
