The new Premier League 2026-27 season begins on Saturday as defending champions Arsenal host newly promoted Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium, with several clubs entering the campaign under new managers and renewed ambitions.
Arsenal will look to retain the title after strengthening their squad with the signing of Bruno Guimaraes, adding further quality and balance to their midfield.
Last season’s runners-up Manchester City face an early test against Bournemouth amid questions surrounding new manager Enzo Maresca following a difficult start as Pep Guardiola’s successor.
The Italian, however, drew criticism after the Community Shield defeat, while Erling Haaland remains the focal point of City’s attack.
Liverpool, under a new manager, begin their campaign away against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Monday.
Newly promoted Hull City will host Manchester United, who have had a relatively quiet transfer window.
Ipswich Town welcome Sunderland, with both newcomers looking for an early boost.
Fulham host Chelsea in the final match of the opening round on Monday, with Alvaro Arbeloa making his debut as Fulham coach and Xabi Alonso taking charge of Chelsea for the first time.
The season will feature major derbies, including Arsenal vs Tottenham, Manchester United vs Manchester City and Liverpool vs Everton.
