Phil Salt, Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli Power RCB To 240/4 Against Mumbai Indians

In the 20th match of IPL 2026, the Mumbai Indians faced the RCB on Sunday. Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium, RCB put up an imposing total of 240 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

After losing the toss, RCB were off to a flying start thanks to Phil Salt and Virat Kohli. The pair stitched together a remarkable 120-run partnership for the first wicket in just 10.5 overs.

Phil Salt led the charge with an aggressive innings. He scored 78 off 36 deliveries at a strike rate of 216. His knock, however, included six fours and six sixes.

Kohli, meanwhile, anchored the innings with a composed 50 off 38 balls, hitting five boundaries and a six.

Captain Rajat Patidar further accelerated the innings with a sensational display of power-hitting. He scored 53 runs off just 20 balls at a remarkable strike rate of 265, smashing four fours and five sixes. Jitesh Sharma contributed 10 runs from nine deliveries.

In the closing stages, Tim David provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 34 off 16 balls at a strike rate exceeding 200. Romario Shepherd, however, remained not out on 2, ensuring RCB crossed the 240-run mark comfortably.

For the Mumbai Indians, wickets were shared among Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, Shardul Thakur and Hardik Pandya, who claimed one each.

RCB, however, made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Jacob Duffy in place of Josh Hazlewood. MI introduced two changes, with Mayank Markande replacing Deepak Chahar and Santner coming in for Allah Ghazanfar.

Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians fielded a strong line-up. It included Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Jasprit Bumrah

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led by Rajat Patidar, featured a formidable batting line-up. It included Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal and Tim David. The side also had a balanced bowling attack.

With a daunting target set, the onus now lies on the Mumbai Indians to deliver a strong response in what promises to be a high-scoring and thrilling encounter.
