PM Narendra Modi To Address ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ In New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in and speak at the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ in New Delhi on Monday. The programme is scheduled to be held at Vigyan Bhawan at 11 AM, according to an official announcement.

The event will feature notable personalities and accomplished women from multiple sectors. Attendees will include individuals from government, academia, science, sports, entrepreneurship, media, social service, and cultural fields.

The Sammelan aims to create a forum for discussions on women’s contribution to India’s development journey. It aims to bring stakeholders together to share perspectives on strengthening women’s role in nation-building.

Organisers have structured the programme to reflect the Union government’s emphasis on women-driven development.

The event will stress the need to expand women’s involvement in leadership and decision-making positions.

Deliberations will highlight the increasing representation of women across governance structures, from local Panchayats to the national Parliament.

The Sammelan takes place following the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in September 2023, a major reform aimed at improving women’s representation in legislative bodies. The Act provides for one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

Attention is now shifting towards executing the provisions of women’s reservation nationwide.

A Parliamentary sitting planned between April 16 and 18 will examine the next steps in this direction.

The event is expected to build momentum for inclusive governance and reiterate the government’s commitment to broader participation. It will also underline the role of women in achieving the long-term goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.

By placing women-led development at the centre of policy, the Sammelan seeks to further strengthen efforts towards achieving balanced and sustainable national growth.
