The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will elect its new leadership during the 44th OCA General Assembly, scheduled to take place on September 8 at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in New Delhi.

The assembly will be attended by Acting OCA President Raja Randhir Singh, Indian Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and prominent sports leaders from all 45 Asian countries. The key highlight of the event will be the official announcement of Raja Randhir Singh as the new president of the OCA. Singh, a former international shooter and seasoned sports administrator, is set to become the first Indian to hold the position after emerging as the sole candidate earlier this year.

The agenda for the General Assembly will also include elections for vice-presidents representing East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and West Asia. The elections will be conducted through a secret ballot.

In a statement ahead of the assembly, Raja Randhir Singh expressed his honor and enthusiasm: “It is a matter of great pride for the Indian sports community to host the OCA General Assembly in our nation’s capital. We are privileged to welcome distinguished guests from around the world, including OCA members and leaders from major global sports organizations. We are confident that this assembly will chart a new course for Olympic sports across Asia under our new leadership.”

Before the General Assembly, the OCA will hold a press conference on September 5 featuring Deputy Director General Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Indian Olympic Association President P.T. Usha, and Acting OCA President Raja Randhir Singh.
