Team Dhoni
Shantakumaran Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir opened up their relationship with the world cup winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Both Sreesanth and Gambhir were part of Indian T20 world cup winning team and ODI world cup winning team in 2007 and 2011 respectively.
Speaking with two different media outlets both Sreesanth and Gambhir lauded Dhoni’s role as skipper and the efforts he put in. Both spoke in similar tones that it was team first for MSD and he didn’t compromise with the quality of the team’s performance.

Sreesanth said that there were times when he went into spats with MSD but were soon to understand that what MSD did or decided was for the betterment of the team. He further added that everyone in the playing XI put in their efforts but one can’t undermine the skipper’s role.
Gambhir, on the other hand, highlighted the sacrifices that MSD has done for the team’s sake. The former opening batter said that had MSD made the number 3 slot his own he would have shattered many ODI batting records but didn’t do that for the team’s sake.

No one can forget MSD’s world cup winning knock of unbeaten 91 against Sri Lanka when he promoted himself at number 5, ahead of in form Yuvraj Singh, despite being out of form right throughout the tournament.
