Melbourne Test: Australia Registers Massive 184-Run Victory Over India In Melbourne

Leading Australia to a massive win against India on Melbourne cricket ground, Scott Boland and Pat Cumin made an 184-run victory in the Melbourne test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Monday.

Australia made the way ahead to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the win, registering the critical 2-1 lead.

India picked up the third session with 112/3 on Day 05 of the Melbourne Test. Notably, the 59th over the third session occurred as game-checking pushing India behind as Travis helped Australia to knock Rishabh Pant down.

Moreover, at the end of the 64th over India was at 132/6 as the Aussie’s spinners knocked the Indian all-rounder down as he came to the crease with the hope of establishing a long partnership with Yashashvi

In the replay, third umpire Sharfuddoula checked the Snickometer where there was no spike. However, the visuals showed the ball hit Jaiswal’s bottom glove and then went to the keeper.

The third umpire went with the visual evidence and overturned the original decision. Yashasvi walked back to the pavilion after scoring 84 runs from 208 balls. As Yashasvi went back to the pavilion, India’s hope of drawing a match of the Melbourne Test was deemed away.  The decision drew huge jeers from the Indian fans in the crowd with some of them chanting, “Cheater-Cheater.”

In the 77th over, Scott Boland struck again as he dismissed Akash Deep for seven runs. India were 150/8 after the end of the 77th over.

Mohammed Siraj replaced Bumrah and joined Washington Sundar on the crease.

However, they couldn’t handle the pressure against the Aussie bowlers. The hosts set an attacking field trying to end the game as soon as possible.

Additionally, with the massive win, Australia took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
