After the top order failed to produce significant runs, it was the seasoned team of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim that did. Only 245 runs could be scored by them on the board. Although they also lost an early wicket, New Zealand was able to simply glide to an eight-wicket victory because of two outstanding partnerships that they had in quick succession.
