Lucknow Super Giants compiled 164/8 in their 20 overs against Gujarat Titans in Match 19 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, aided by a strong finish from the lower order.

After being sent in to bat, Lucknow began briskly, reaching 60/2 during the powerplay phase. Mitchell Marsh provided early impetus with a rapid 11 off four deliveries before Kagiso Rabada dismissed him.

Captain Rishabh Pant followed with a lively 18 from 11 balls but departed after being removed by Mohammed Siraj.

Aiden Markram steadied the innings in the middle overs with a well-paced 30 off 21 balls, striking boundaries at regular intervals. Prasidh Krishna broke his resistance with a sharply directed short delivery.

The scoring rate dipped during the middle phase as Lucknow lost wickets in quick succession.

Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran struggled to accelerate, while Abdul Samad was unable to convert his start into a substantial score. Gujarat’s bowlers maintained control with disciplined lines and clever variations.

With the score at 120/6 in the 17th over, Lucknow appeared headed for a modest total. The lower-order batters shifted momentum with an attacking approach. Mukul Choudhary added a useful 18, while George Linde struck a quick 16 off 10 balls to lift the scoring rate.

In the final over, Mohammed Shami hit a six and a boundary. Avesh Khan also contributed a four. The side collected 18 runs and crossed the 160 mark.

For Gujarat, Prasidh Krishna led the attack effectively, returning figures of 4/28. Rabada conceded runs despite taking a wicket, while Siraj and Ashok Sharma chipped in with important dismissals.

Although Lucknow could not build lasting partnerships in the middle overs, their late surge ensured a competitive total. Gujarat Titans now face a testing chase as they aim to secure victory.
