Kerala Sports Minister V Abdurahiman announced the news on his social media platform, stating that the Argentine Football Association (AFA) had formally confirmed the fixture via email.
The match will take place during the FIFA International Match Window in November 2025.
It will be the first visit to India for Messi and his World Cup-winning teammates, sparking jubilation among fans across the country and especially in football-loving Kerala.

The Kerala Football Association (KFA), working with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), is finalising logistical details, including the choice of venue.
Early discussions suggest Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram could host the event.

Messi, who guided Argentina to glory at Qatar 2022, will captain the side, while officials will confirm the final squad closer to the date.
The Kerala government is preparing to provide full support for arrangements relating to security, crowd control and hospitality.
Tourism authorities believe Messi’s arrival will boost Kerala’s international profile, drawing visitors from across India and abroad.
