Legendry Cricketer Kapil Dev unanimously appointed as President of Professional Golf Tour of India(PGTI). Kapil has served as the Vice President of PGTI as well. Dev became part of the Golf Tour in 2021 since he was appointed as board member. HR Srinivasan has preceded Dev his tenure came to an end.
“Indian pro golfers have been doing very well for quite a few years. Today we have Indian pros in most of the big Tours and we will have two golfers at the Olympics for the third time in succession. We have a strong tour and we hope to become stronger in next few years,” the 65-year-old said.

Additionally, he has added one of the richest tournaments to the PGTI schedule: the Rs 2 crore (about $240,000) Kapil Dev Grant Thornton Invitational golf tournament.
Notably, Kapil Dev led Indian cricket team won the first World Cup for India in 1983. Kapil played cricket for India from 1978 to 1994.
One of the greatest all-rounders of all time, he played 131 Test matches and 225 one-dayers and led India to the 1983 World Cup win. His 175 not out in 1983 World Cup is considered one of the finest innings in the annals of the game.
In Tests, He scored 5248 runs, including eight centuries, and took 434 wickets, which was then a world record.
He also scored 3783 runs in ODIs and and took 253 wickets in the format.
