Jay Shah
The much-anticipated World Cup match between India and Pakistan is set to take place on October 15; however, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has the option of moving the date. But there are other changes on the horizon as well.
Changes in the WC 2023: Jay Shah
After a meeting with the ten staging associations in Delhi on Thursday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah told the media that “we have received requests from 2-3 ICC member boards participating in the World Cup to make some changes to the schedule.” The fact that we don’t need to change venues is crucial for us.
India vs Pakistan on Navaratri
The match between India and Pakistan was moved up in date because it would not conflict with the state’s widely observed Navaratri holiday. Police forces can experience security difficulties as a result. If the match was postponed for security concerns, Shah flatly denied it.
Changes on the date, October 14
Even though no other dates have been officially announced, it has been heard that efforts are being made to hold the match on October 14 in order to avoid seriously upsetting the plans of the ICC’s sponsors, suppliers, and cricket fans who may have already reserved hotels and flights to Ahmedabad.
The greater gap between some matches may be shortened in light of other schedule alterations. Only over the next 3–4 days will it become obvious how many adjustments will need to be made to the 46-day event’s initial timetable.
Physical lodging tickets
For the 2018 World Cup, the BCCI made it clear that real tickets would still be available. It has been revealed that the board is dubious about whether the necessary infrastructure is in place to conduct an e-ticketing operation in large stadiums in India.
The Indian board intends to set up numerous ticket-collection points at stadiums about a week before each match in order to ensure that fans do not have to undergo the torture of waiting in enormous lines. Tickets will probably go on sale the following week, but that won’t happen until the revised itinerary is published.
