Jasprit Bumrah Retains Top Spot In ICC Test Bowling Rankings; Siraj Climbs In ODIs

India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continues to dominate the ICC Men’s Test bowling rankings, holding the top spot despite increasing pressure from emerging Pakistani spinner Noman Ali.

The latest ICC update, released on 22 October, also brought encouraging news for fellow Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj, who jumped into 17th position in the ODI rankings.

Siraj’s return to form was evident during India’s recent ODI series against Australia.

After more than a year out of the ODI top 20, he re-entered the list thanks to a strong showing that impressed selectors and analysts alike. His resurgence adds further depth to India’s fast-bowling lineup heading into future white-ball tournaments.

Noman Ali Closes in on Bumrah

Bumrah’s lead at the top of the Test rankings has narrowed to just 29 points.

Pakistan’s Noman Ali climbed four places to second after claiming 10 wickets in Pakistan’s 93-run Test victory over South Africa in Lahore. His performance earned him a career-best 853 rating points.

Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi moved up three places to 19th after picking up four wickets in the second innings of the same match.

In the batting department, several Pakistani players improved their standings.

Mohammad Rizwan moved up four places to 16th, while Babar Azam climbed to 22nd and Salman Agha rose eight places to 30th.

England’s Joe Root, however, continues to lead the ICC Test batting rankings.

From South Africa, Ryan Rickelton’s 71 in the first Test against Pakistan earned him a debut in the top 50, while Tony de Zorzi’s century pushed him up to 54th.

ODI and T20I Rankings Also Shift

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh gained two places to reach 42nd in the ODI batting rankings following his Player of the Match performance in Perth against India.

Bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc also improved, moving up to 10th and 21st, respectively.

Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz rose six places to 18th in the ODI bowling rankings, thanks to consistent performances against the West Indies.

In the T20I arena, England’s Harry Brook surged 18 spots to 20th after his strong showing against New Zealand in Christchurch.

Leg-spinner Adil Rashid climbed to third among T20I bowlers, further boosting England’s white-ball credentials.

As the cricket calendar progresses, the rankings reflect the ongoing battle for individual and team supremacy.

With players continuing to deliver standout performances across formats, the coming months promise intense competition at the international level.
