In Match 28 of the IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals posted 173/4 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal leading from the front with a stellar 75 off 47 balls.
Measured Start, Explosive Finish
After being invited to bat first, Jaiswal and skipper Sanju Samson provided a cautious start.
Jaiswal was the aggressor early on, finding the boundary three times in the powerplay.
He opened up in Yash Dayal’s second over, dispatching a six and a four, helping Rajasthan reach 45/0 after six overs.
However, Samson struggled to find rhythm and fell to Krunal Pandya for a 19-ball 15 in the seventh over.
Riyan Parag joined Jaiswal and added quick runs, including a six off Krunal and a pair of boundaries off debutant Suyash Sharma.
Jaiswal Brings Up Another Fifty
Jaiswal reached his second fifty of the season in 35 balls, marking his third IPL half-century at this venue.
Rajasthan were well-placed at 104/1 after 13 overs. Shortly after, Parag fell for 30, giving an easy catch to Virat Kohli off Yash Dayal.
Middle-Order Pushes Total Past 170
Jurel entered next and joined forces with the in-form Jaiswal, who smashed Hazlewood for a six and four before falling in the same over. His knock included 10 fours and two sixes.
Jurel then took charge of the final overs, riding his luck after being dropped by Kohli on 11. He punished Dayal in the 19th over with a six and a four, collecting 15 runs from it.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled the final over, conceding 11 runs and removing Shimron Hetmyer before Nitish Rana struck a boundary to end the innings at 173/4.
RCB Bowling Overview
Krunal Pandya was the most economical bowler, finishing with 1/29 in his four overs.
Hazlewood also bowled tightly, returning with 1/26.
