Opener Sanju Samson produced a scintillating unbeaten century to power Chennai Super Kings to 207/6 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians in Match 33 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Asked to bat first, CSK made an aggressive start, with Samson and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad putting early pressure on the bowlers. The duo raced to 26 runs in the first two overs, including a 19-run over off Hardik Pandya.

Gaikwad scored 22 off 14 balls before a bowler dismissed him in the third over, but Sanju Samson maintained the tempo.

CSK reached 73/2 at the end of the Power-play despite losing Sarfaraz Khan, who scored 14 off 8 balls before being bowled by Mitchell Santner.

Mumbai struck again after the field restrictions, with AM Ghazanfar removing Shivam Dube.

Dewald Brevis added quick runs with 21 off 11 balls before falling to Ashwani Kumar. Samson brought up his half-century in just 26 balls, anchoring the innings even as wickets fell at the other end.

Kartik chipped in with 18 off 19 balls, while Jamie Overton provided late acceleration with 15 off 7 deliveries.

In the death overs, Samson took charge, reaching his century in 54 balls with a six and finishing unbeaten on 101, including 10 fours and six sixes.

For Mumbai, AM Ghazanfar (2/25) and Ashwani Kumar (2/37) were the standout bowlers.
