IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 16 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Both teams made key changes to their playing XIs.
Rajasthan brought in Brijesh Sharma in place of Tushar Deshpande, while Bengaluru strengthened their pace attack by recalling Josh Hazlewood, replacing Jacob Duffy to add experience and control.
Rajasthan skipper Riyan Parag indicated that the pitch was expected to be dry, though recent rain could leave some early moisture. He emphasised that his side has been consistent and focused on executing pre-tournament strategies, adding that he is comfortable with a reduced personal role as long as the opening batters maintain form.
Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar acknowledged strong crowd support, saying it created a home-like atmosphere despite being an away fixture. He confirmed Hazlewood’s inclusion in place of Duffy, noting the Australian’s experience as a valuable addition to the side.
Shortly after the toss and team confirmations, rain returned to disrupt proceedings once again, halting momentum just as conditions appeared to improve.
