Following 70 competitive league fixtures, IPL 2026 now enters its decisive knockout phase.

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to take on Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday at Dharamshala, where a spot in the final will be at stake.

Under the IPL playoff structure, the top two teams compete in Qualifier 1. The winner progresses directly to the final, while the losing team receives another opportunity through Qualifier 2.

Both RCB and GT finished the league stage with 18 points each, with the table positions decided only by net run rate.

The two teams have shared results this season, winning one match each and maintaining an even 4-4 overall record.

Gujarat earlier defeated RCB with the help of a disciplined bowling performance. RCB responded effectively in the return fixture, levelling the head-to-head record and regaining momentum.

Both franchises are aiming to add a second title to their tally.

RCB are looking to retain their championship and achieve successive victories, while GT are keen to reclaim the trophy they secured in 2022.

In IPL history, the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings lead the charts with five titles each, while the Kolkata Knight Riders have won three.
