A disciplined bowling display led by Mohsin Khan, Prince Yadav, and Mohammed Shami helped Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) restrict Rajasthan Royals (RR) to 159/6 in their IPL 2026 clash at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Despite a late counterattack from Ravindra Jadeja, who remained unbeaten on 43 off 29 balls, LSG’s seamers dominated proceedings for most of the innings with disciplined line and length.
After opting to bowl, LSG faced early pressure as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi began aggressively, striking six boundaries in the opening three overs.
The momentum shifted quickly when Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets in two deliveries.
Jaiswal fell to a bouncer attempt, with Rishabh Pant completing a sharp catch, while Dhruv Jurel edged one behind to depart for a duck. Mohsin Khan tightened the screws further, delivering a maiden over to Sooryavanshi before dismissing him and Shimron Hetmyer to deepen RR’s troubles.
Prince Yadav compounded RR’s woes by removing captain Riyan Parag and Donovan Ferreira, leaving the side struggling at 110/6 with little momentum.
With RR heading towards a below-par total, Jadeja shifted gears in the final stages. He capitalised on the last over from Mayank Yadav, scoring 20 runs and finding support from impact substitute Shubham Dubey, who remained unbeaten on 19 off 11 balls. Their partnership ensured RR reached a competitive 159/6.
Brief Scores:
Rajasthan Royals 159/6 in 20 overs (Ravindra Jadeja 43 not out, Yashasvi Jaiswal 22; Mohsin Khan 2-17, Prince Yadav 2-29) vs Lucknow Super Giants
