Rajasthan Royals posted a competitive total of 205 for 8 against the Mumbai Indians in their final league-stage match of IPL 2026 at Wankhede Stadium.
The fixture holds significant importance for RR as they aim to secure a place in the playoffs.
RR began their innings on an aggressive note, with Yashasvi Jaiswal providing early momentum. He scored 27 off 17 balls, including three sixes and a boundary, before the bowler dismissed him.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi struggled to find rhythm and departed for 4, while skipper Riyan Parag managed just 14 off 8 deliveries.
At 54 for 3, RR were under pressure before Dhruv Jurel steadied the innings with a composed 38 off 26 balls, striking two sixes and three fours. He received crucial support from Dasun Shanaka, who played an explosive cameo of 29 off 15 balls, featuring three sixes.
Fast bowler Jofra Archer provided a powerful finish, scoring 32 off just 15 deliveries, including three sixes and a four.
Donovan Ferreira also contributed 18 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 19. Nandre Burger added a quick unbeaten 10 off three balls to push the total beyond 200.
The Mumbai Indians played without Jasprit Bumrah in this match. Deepak Chahar picked up two crucial wickets while conceding 43 runs in his four overs.
Shardul Thakur also picked up two wickets, giving away 41 runs.
Will Jacks chipped in with one wicket for 12 runs in two overs. Ghazanfar returned figures of 1 for 45 in three overs, while Corbin Bosch finished with 1 for 38 in his four-over spell.
With a target of 206 on the board, the contest is finely balanced as the Mumbai Indians prepare to chase under pressure, while the Rajasthan Royals look to defend their total and keep their playoff hopes alive.
