In the 14th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, half-centuries from captain Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Jos Buttler guided the Gujarat Titans (GT) to a formidable total of 211 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday.

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bat first. However, the Gujarat Titans lost an early wicket as Sai Sudharsan departed for 12 runs in just 2.1 overs, with the team score at 19.

Following the early setback, Shubman Gill stabilised the innings with Jos Buttler. The pair added 60 runs for the second wicket in 32 balls, shifting momentum in Gujarat’s favour.

Buttler played an aggressive knock of 52 off 27 deliveries, smashing five sixes and three boundaries before departing.

After Buttler’s dismissal, Gill continued to anchor the innings alongside Washington Sundar. The duo stitched together a crucial 104-run partnership off 60 balls, further strengthening the total.

Gill scored a fluent 70 off 45 balls, hitting five sixes and four fours, while Sundar contributed 55 from 32 deliveries, including two sixes and six boundaries.

Delhi Capitals’ Bowling Effort

Among the Delhi Capitals bowlers, Mukesh Kumar emerged as the most successful, claiming two wickets. Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav picked up one wicket each.

Delhi Capitals fielded an unchanged playing XI for the match. Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans made one alteration, bringing back skipper Gill into the side, which meant Kumar Kushagra missed out.

Delhi Capitals will look to register a third consecutive win, having defeated Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians by six wickets each in their previous matches.

In contrast, the Gujarat Titans aim to secure their first victory of the season after suffering a narrow three-wicket defeat to the Punjab Kings, who themselves went on to lose to the Rajasthan Royals by six runs.

The high-scoring contest has set up an exciting chase, with the Delhi Capitals needing 211 runs to continue their winning momentum.
