IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss and chose to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 27 of IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday.

SRH made one change, bringing in Dilshan Madushanka for Harsh Dubey, while CSK replaced Akeal Hosein with Matthew Short, and Mukesh Choudhary with injured Khaleel Ahmad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad currently sit fourth on the points table with two wins from five matches. Their campaign has been inconsistent so far, though victories against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have kept them in contention.

Playing at home, SRH will aim to build on those performances and secure another crucial win.

After losing the toss, skipper Ishan Kishan indicated that SRH would have preferred to bat first on what appears to be a good wicket. He emphasised the importance of team-oriented batting and noted that early movement with the ball could challenge batters in the initial overs.

The Chennai Super Kings have shown signs of recovery after a rough patch that saw three consecutive defeats. They bounced back strongly with back-to-back wins over the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals.

CSK, however, remain eighth in the standings and is eager to maintain momentum.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s decision to bowl reflects confidence in chasing on a surface expected to remain consistent. He highlighted improved execution of basics in recent games and praised the bowling unit, particularly the contributions in the previous match.

Both teams head into the contest with different objectives—SRH aiming for stability and CSK pushing for a climb up the table—setting the stage for a competitive encounter.
