
IPL 2025 will restart on May 17. The season resumes after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening match in Bengaluru.
The BCCI confirmed the revised schedule on Monday. Seventeen matches will be held across six cities.
The final will take place on June 3. Two double-headers will be played on Sundays.
Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad will host the league games. The BCCI will announce the Playoff venues later.
Last week, the BCCI suspended the season after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals game was abandoned mid-match.
Evacuation took place at Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium. Players left in full gear. Officials cleared the venue due to rising security concerns.
The BCCI had asked all teams, except Punjab Kings, to report to venues by Tuesday. It also instructed franchises to arrange travel for foreign players.
Airports in India, including Chandigarh and Dharamsala, reopened on Monday. These had closed during the conflict.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said, “Cricket is important, but the nation comes first.” He added that the board will always support national interest.
The revised schedule starts on May 17 and ends on May 26. The BCCI will release details of the remaining matches and Playoffs soon.
