India’s Junior Squash Teams Fall Short In World Championship Quarterfinals

India’s junior squash teams suffered narrow quarterfinal defeats at the World Junior Championships on Sunday.

India’s boys and girls junior squash teams experienced narrow defeats in the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Championships Team competition on Sunday.

Both teams lost after hard-fought matches that ended 1-2.

The sixth-seeded boys’ team faced off against fourth seed South Korea.

Yuvraj Wadhwani gave India an early lead with a gritty 3-2 victory over Seojin Oh.

The momentum shifted when Joo Young Na defeated Shaurya Bawa, who had just won an individual bronze medal, in four closely contested games.

In the decisive match, Kun Kim proved too strong for Arihant KS, sealing South Korea’s 2-1 victory.

In the girls’ competition, India, seeded sixth, went up against third seed Malaysia.

The match began with Shameena Riaz losing to Whitney Wilson.

Anahat Singh then leveled the score with a determined 3-2 win over Thanusaa Uthrian.

The tie came down to the final match, where Nirupama Dubey fought valiantly but ultimately fell in a five-game thriller to Doyce Ye San Lee.

Nirupama Dubey lost to Doyce Ye San Lee 7-11, 11-7, 11-5, 10-12, 3-11

Despite the losses, the Indian junior teams displayed resilience and competitive spirit, with several matches going down to the wire.

Their performances in the quarterfinals highlighted their potential and promise for future tournaments.
