Her achievement made her the first-ever woman shooter from India to win an Olympic medal. Bhaker continued her stellar run by partnering with Sarabjot Singh to secure another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking India’s first-ever shooting team medal at the Olympics.

The intense championship, tied at 6.5-6.5, saw Gukesh deliver a decisive performance to win 7.5-6.5, making him the youngest world chess champion at 18. He became only the second Indian to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of Viswanathan Anand.
