Indian Contingent Shatters Medal Records at Asian Games 2023, Receives Praise from Prime Minister Modi
Asian Games 2023: India’s athletes are putting up a strong performance at the Asian Games 2023. As of the 11th day, India has won 16 gold, 26 silver, and 29 bronze medals. India has also broken the previous record for medal wins in the Asian Games. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the entire team for their outstanding performance.
India surpassed previous record
In the Asian Games, India surpassed its previous record of 70 medals on the 11th day. The Indian team has now won 71 medals. Previously, India had won 70 medals, including 16 gold, 23 silver, and 31 bronze, at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.

Praised for winning gold
Prior to this, Ojaswini Devatale and Jyoti Surekha Vennam were praised for winning gold in archery at the Asian Games. They mentioned that the extraordinary skills, precision, and teamwork of the athletes have ensured excellent results.
Largest-ever contingent
India has sent its largest-ever contingent to the Asian Games, aiming to surpass the 100-medal mark in this competition. India has declared its goal to achieve a century of medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Currently, India has 71 medals, and more additions to the medal count are expected as the games continue.
