The Super 8 showdown between India and the West Indies at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has established a fresh record for peak concurrent viewership across ICC streaming services, surpassing the benchmark achieved during the 2024 final.

This edition of the tournament has become the ICC’s most digitally connected and globally available event to date.

ICC.tv, along with the governing body’s social media platforms, has recorded unprecedented levels of online engagement and viewership. The platform has already surpassed the total user base and cumulative watch time registered during the entire 2024 tournament.

Compared to the same phase in the previous edition, the number of unique viewers has climbed by 28 per cent, while total viewing duration has surged by 56 per cent.

Across social platforms, video views have crossed the 10 billion mark and are projected to overtake the 16 billion total recorded in 2024. The statistics indicate not only a broader audience reach but also stronger viewer commitment throughout the competition.

The average viewing duration per user has increased to 58 minutes, a notable rise from the 47-minute average at the end of the Super 8 stage in 2024.

Multilingual Strategy Expands Reach

Multi-language broadcasts generated nearly half of the total watch time, highlighting the ICC’s strong emphasis on inclusivity.

Three of the five most-watched streams have been in languages other than English.

ICC.tv has offered live coverage in Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Japanese and Bahasa Indonesia. This multilingual approach has played a central role in engaging cricket fans across varied regions and cultures.

The sharpest rise in audience numbers has come from developing cricket markets, which registered a 69 per cent growth in users.

Germany witnessed a 150 per cent jump in unique viewers compared to 2024, while Italy recorded a 136 per cent increase. Japan and South Korea each posted growth exceeding 100 per cent in both views and user numbers.

With record-breaking simultaneous audiences, extended watch times and expanding international reach, the 2026 edition stands as the ICC’s most globally accessible and digitally impactful tournament yet.
