India remained the highest-ranked side in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings announced on Monday. New Zealand reduced the difference at the top after improving its overall rating in the updated standings.
India’s rating dropped by one point from 119 to 118, while New Zealand increased its tally by two points to reach 113. The gap between the two leading teams has now narrowed from eight points to five.
India also continues to lead the ICC men’s T20I rankings after retaining the top spot in the shortest format earlier this month.
Australia, the current ODI world champions, stayed in third place with a rating of 109 and did not record any change in their tally.
South Africa emerged as one of the biggest gainers among the top-ranked teams. The side added four points to rise to fourth position with a rating of 102.
Pakistan slipped to fifth place after losing four points and dropping to 98 in the updated rankings.
Sri Lanka held on to sixth position despite a two-point decline and now stands on 96 points. Afghanistan also remained seventh after its rating dropped slightly to 93.
England gained one point but remained eighth, while Bangladesh stayed ninth with 84 points.
West Indies remained in 10th position after losing three points and falling to 74, increasing the points gap between them and Bangladesh.
Ireland moved ahead of Zimbabwe to claim 11th place after gaining two rating points. Zimbabwe dropped to 12th after a one-point decline.
The United States climbed above Scotland to take 13th position with 46 points following an improvement in ratings. Scotland slipped one place after losing a point.
The Netherlands registered a notable rise by gaining four points to reach 44, while Oman improved to 33 points.
Nepal dropped four points to 25, whereas Namibia made a slight improvement and moved to 23 points.
The United Arab Emirates advanced to 19th place after gaining three points and overtaking Canada in the standings.
Canada recorded the biggest fall in the latest update after losing six points and finishing at the bottom of the rankings table with a rating of 10.
The ICC rankings update is based on team performances over a fixed period. Recent matches also carry greater value in the calculations.
