Following his unexpected release from Mumbai prior to the 2022 season, Hardik was signed on by the Gujarat Titans and named captain. They finished as runners-up in the 2023 season after losing to the Chennai Super Kings in the championship game, but he went on to lead the rookies to an incredible title win that season. He picked up 11 wickets in over eight innings and scored 833 runs in 30 innings at 41.65 during those two seasons.
