Hardik Pandya injured during IND vs BAN match
Hardik Pandya, all-rounder for India, was declared out of the rest of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, at home on Saturday due to his injury, which he did not heal from.
Prasidh Krishna, a seamer, was selected as Hardik’s substitute and is expected to be available for Sunday’s match at Eden Garden’s in Kolkata against South Africa.
After getting hurt while bowling against Bangladesh in Pune, Hardik was unable to play against New Zealand or England. After travelling to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, he was anticipated to be ready for the knockout rounds.
Important to the team’s equilibrium as an all-rounder with seam bowling, Hardik has taken five wickets in four games despite only finding the bat once in India’s opening game of the tournament against Australia in Chennai.

Krishna has only made 19 appearances with the white ball for India. He was last seen playing for his country when he took the valuable wicket of David Warner in nine overs at a cost of 1/45 against Australia right before the World Cup.
With 33 international wickets under his belt, Krishna has previously shown potential, but he will have competition from Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj to make the Indian pace attack.
