Following the World Cup fiasco, Pakistan will fire all of its foreign coaches: Report

A local news outlet reported that Grant Bradburn, the head coach of Pakistan, Mickey Arthur, the team director, and Andrew Puttick, the batting coach, are expected to be fired. The Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to fire its whole workforce of foreign support employees, according to rumors that captain Babar Azam’s position as captain is in question.

Samaa TV, a well-known Pakistani news outlet, reports that following the team’s underwhelming performance in the 2023 World Cup in India, Pakistan’s head cocah Grant Bradburn, team director Mickey Arthur, and batting coach Andrew Puttick are probably going to the let go.

The article went on to say that PCB chief Zaka Ashraf will announce the decision at an emergency meeting with former captain Younis khan on Tuesday.

Pakistan’s dismal performance in the competition- they lost five of their nine league games and were unable to advance to the semi-finals – will be examined by the board. With eight points, Pakistan came in fifth place in the points standings.

Notably, Pakistan did not make it out of the group stages for the second time in a row at the ODI World Cup. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2015 World Cup in Australia. Not too long ago, Pakistan was the highest ranked ODI squad, but they were also eliminated from this year’s Asia Cup finals. The major cause of the drastic changes that Pakistan cricket is about to undergo is thought to be the fiasco in the two major multi-nations competitions.

This happened the day after Morne Morkel, the Pakistan bowling coach, resigned. Puttick, Bradburn, Arthur, Morkel, and other members joined when Pakistan reorganized their coaching team earlier this year.

Since he didn’t want to quit his country contract , Arthur primarily supported the team online, although Morkel and other team members have been there since June this year.
