Dream11 to sponsor team India
In an important development, Dream11, a well-known fantasy gaming website, will take over from Byju’s as the team’s new shirt sponsor. On June 14, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared the opening of a bid process for the team’s new jersey sponsor. However, Dream11, the fantasy gaming platform will partner with BCCI for four years, replacing Byju’s
Dream11 will be the new sponsor of Team India
With BCCI, Byju’s had an optional agreement until November 2023. In March, they made the decision to cancel the agreement. Since that time, India’s jersey has been without a sponsor. Additionally, they competed without a jersey sponsor in the World Test Championship final matchup against Australia in England earlier this month.
What amount will the BCCI receive?
During Byju’s administration, the BCCI received about Rs 5.50 crore for each game in a bilateral series. Due to the location of the emblem on the jersey, this amount decreased to Rs 1.70 crore during games at ICC events. The richest cricket board in the world is expected to get less money from Dream11 than it did under its previous arrangement with Byju’s. Notably, 358 crore Indian rupees were spent on the sponsorship rights.
Brand prohibited from taking part
Specific brand categories were prohibited from taking part in the process, according to a BCCI statement issued on June 14. “Fantasy Sports Gaming” was allowed even though “Real Money Gaming” was on the list of prohibited categories.

It is one of the most established and well-liked fantasy gaming platforms out there. Dream11 partners with some of the most in-demand cricketers in India right now to market the company.
