Ashwin wishes Team India a successful World Cup in 2023
The 2023 Cricket World Cup squad was unveiled on Tuesday by captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, although veteran Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was left out. India chose Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel as its three spinners. Axar and Jadeja are the side’s two all-rounders, but Kuldeep was the lone option for specialized spin bowling. While Ashwin has been a key team member when playing Test cricket, he last played an ODI in January 2022. Ashwin posted a special message for the Indian cricket team on social media following the squad announcement.

The inclusion of wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul, whose fitness was being questioned, was the highlight of Tuesday’s announcement of India’s 15-person World Cup roster as the selectors sought to achieve overall balance.
Despite the fact that Rahul skipped India’s group stage Asia Cup matches in Sri Lanka, chief selector Ajit Agarkar maintained there was no concern regarding Rahul’s fitness.

Prior to India’s Super 4 matches, which begin on September 9 against Pakistan, Rahul is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka.
The 31-year-old, according to Agarkar, was able to demonstrate his readiness at the NCA on both the batting and wicket-keeping counts.

Ishan Kishan was added by the selectors as the second wicketkeeper-batsman, and skipper Rohit Sharma did not completely rule out the prospect of including both Kishan and Rahul in the starting lineup.
Sanju Samson, a traveling reserve for the Asia Cup who is currently in Sri Lanka, was left out due to the selection of both Rahul and Kishan.
