On his birthday, Virat Kohli broke the record by scoring a century.
With his record-tying 49th ODI century in Sunday’s much-anticipated World Cup match against South Africa at Eden Gardens, Virat Kohli enhanced the specialness of his 35th birthday. On a challenging batting surface, Kohli put up a strong fight and once again demonstrated his tenacity and resolve to tie Sachin Tendulkar for the most ODI centuries with 49.
When Kohli took the single in the 48.3 overs, he accomplished the record century in 119 balls in front of his horde of supporters at Eden Gardens.
Every cricket fan at the stadium will always treasure that moment, as several of them even recorded it on their phones.

After India captain Rohit Sharma was defeated by Kagiso Rabada on 40, Kohli walked out to bat in the sixth over.
With a breathtaking cover drive that quickly sped away for a boundary, the 35-year-old was on target.
Because of the sluggish quality of the surface, the spinners’ help made the pitch difficult for batting. To keep the scoreboard moving, Kohli put in a lot of effort and depended on singles and doubles.
On this momentous occasion of his 35th birthday, Kohli equaled Tendulkar’s incredible record, receiving praise from the cricket community and fans.

On a challenging batting surface, Kohli’s historic century propelled India to a threatening 326/5 in 50 overs. He remained undefeated at 101 off 121 balls.
In contrast, it took Kohli far less innings than Tendulkar to score his 49th century in an ODI.
In most ODIs, 100s
49 – 277 innings of Virat Kohli
Sachin Tendulkar (452 – 49)
With 543 runs, Virat Kohli is presently two runs behind Quinton de Kock, the leading scorer in the 2018 World Cup.
