Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 166 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 45th match of IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday.

After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad chose to bat first and scored 165 runs in 19 overs. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head provided an aggressive start, adding 44 runs in just 3.4 overs.

Abhishek scored 15 runs off 10 balls, including a six and a four, before departing early.

Travis Head built a crucial 61-run partnership with Ishan Kishan for the second wicket, taking the team beyond the 100-run mark. He played a fluent innings of 61 runs off 28 deliveries, striking three sixes and nine fours.

By the end of the ninth over, SRH had lost both openers at a total of 105.

Ishan Kishan attempted to stabilise the innings but lacked consistent support from the other end. He scored 42 runs off 29 balls, including two sixes and four fours, before becoming the seventh wicket to fall at 148.

The remaining batters failed to build momentum, and the team managed to finish at 165.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun Chakravarthy led the attack with three wickets, while Sunil Narine and Kartik Tyagi picked up two wickets each. Vaibhav Arora, Cameron Green, and Anukul Roy claimed one wicket each.

Sunrisers Hyderabad hold the third position in the standings with six wins from nine matches. Kolkata Knight Riders remain in eighth place, having lost five of their eight matches, with one game abandoned due to rain.
