BCCI
The national cricket team’s primary sponsorship rights have been put up for bid by interested companies. According to the BCCI) there are brands that will not sponsor Team India. This action is taken in response to the educational technology company BYJU’s decision to cancel its $35 million agreement with the board, citing a decrease in branding expenditure as the cause.
As the primary sponsor for all three game types, BYJU’s logo has been prominently displayed on the Indian cricket team’s uniforms. However, the BCCI has started the search for a new lead sponsor as a result of BYJU’s resignation. For interested parties to submit bids for this outstanding opportunity, the board has issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT).
The BCCI bans certain brands
Certain brand categories have been deemed prohibited for sponsorship rights. These brands cannot bid to be the title sponsor for Team India.
These include athleisure and sportswear manufacturers, alcohol products, betting companies, cryptocurrency entities, real money gaming platforms (excluding fantasy sports gaming), tobacco brands, and those associated with offensive content such as pornography or public moral offense.

What BCCI has to say about the ban?
“Any interested party wishing to submit a bid is required to purchase the ITT. However, only those satisfying the eligibility criteria set out in the ITT and subject to the other terms. It is clarified that merely purchasing the ITT does not entitle any person to bid,” BCCI wrote in a statement.
The bid for sponsorship rights is expected to draw significant attention, especially with the upcoming ODI World Cup scheduled to take place in India later this year. The lead sponsor’s name will adorn the front of the Indian cricket team’s jersey, providing unparalleled visibility and exposure.
